Back Pain, and Lower Back Pain in particular, is one of the curses of today's society. If you don’t want to suffer anymore contact me here. Not only older adults suffer with this condition. It is very common amongst younger people who are often in their thirties or even younger.
Back Pain is largely due to our modern, inactive, lifestyle. We get up in the morning, drive to work, sit behind a desk all day long, often using computers, and slouch in front of the television when we get home. All of this, together with a sedentary lifestyle, will lead to untrained gluteus maximus muscles (backside) and tight hamstring muscles (back of thigh). Both together may pull the pelvis out of alignment which will cause Lower Back Pain.
Also very common is Neck Pain. Using a computer keyboard or a mouse will lead to tight pectoralis (chest) muscles which will cause rounded shoulders. Together with under developed neck muscles this may lead to the proverbial Pain in the Neck!
However, with the correct instruction by a well qualified YMCA Personal Trainer, Neck and Back Pain can be a thing of the past as some of my clients are happy to reveal here. Changes and improvements to your back and neck won't happen over night and need your dedication and willpower to succeed. But with ongoing training guided by a Fitness Professional there is absolutely no reason why you should suffer!! You will need to strengthen certain muscle groups while stretching others.
Quite contrary to earlier advice from the medical profession it is now recognized that, unless there is an underlying emergency like a cracked vertebrae, moderate physical activity is the way forward in treating Back Pain and as a Fitness Professional who holds the Gayton GP Exercise Referral Certificate I am well qualified to advise you. Contact me. I'm usually better qualified than most other Fitness Instructors due to the fact that I have suffered with a "slipped disc" myself some two decades ago. What has helped me back to full health was my determination to get better (against the advice of a specialist orthopedist who wanted to operate) and a strict exercise regime.
Back Pain is one of the largest causes of working hours lost in this country. It can quite easily ruin a person's life when all that is required is specific, regular, training of no more than 2 hours per week. Everyone should be willing and determined to take her/his own health and well being into their own hands by becoming more active and train abdominal and back muscles. This can easily be done in your own home as Eric’s success story shows, providing you receive proper instructions by a well qualified Professional.
