Cardiovasvular

Cardiovascular Training, or training of the heart, is essentially important for good health and we should all do more of it. Unfortunately our modern lifestyle is often to blame that we all sit too much: in front of the computer, in the car traveling to and from work, or, to relax after work in front of the television. A special weekend treat is often a meal out in a restaurant rather than a walk in the park.

This lack of physical activity shows: a staggering 1 in 12 of all four year olds in this country are already clinically obese! And: only 1 in 20 of all adults in this country can sustain a 15 minute walk up a 5% incline! Cardiovascular training will help improve the health and fitness of the nation.

If you are not working out five times per week for 30 minutes to a point where your heart rate is raised above the resting heart rate then you are not achieving the suggested target. This means that you may want to improve your stamina, as cardiovascular fitness is often referred to. Cardiovascular training will benefit you in all kinds of ways: it will not only improve your looks and
help you slim but it will increase the uptake of vital oxygen by your inner organs, it will lower the Resting Heart Rate (put less strain on the heart), it may lower Blood Pressure and reduce certain types of Cancer to name but a few. A regular cardiovascular workout will also increase natural Endorphins, the body’s own Feel-Good Hormones so you will feel much better and usually look younger too.

To improve your cardiovascular fitness safely you should employ the help of a qualified YMCA Personal Trainer who is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP). Contact me
here. As your Fitness Professional I will provide you with an individual workout programme, which is tailored to your specific needs. It makes sense to say that cardiovascular training is equally important for the young already fit person as it is for the older adult or even an immobile person who is chair bound.

Should you suffer with any health related illnesses it is advisable that the Fitness Professional also holds the Gayton GP Exercise Referral Certificate. In case of a severe heart condition you may need clearance for exercise from your GP first. This will be established during an initial fitness assessment.

Cardiovascular Training can also be adapted for anyone suffering with
Lower Back Pain, any Joint Problems, sufferers of Arthritis, Diabetes Mellitus, Asthma, Parkinson Disease, Hypertension, High Blood Cholesterol or indeed most other health related problems.
And to make it easier still, cardiovascular training can be done in the comfort of your own home.
